Sorry this post has been so long in the making....to say the least this has been a year for the books....I've thought about this group so many times...Music is my therapy and it has seemed almost as if the devil has been attacking my time of being able to get focused back with listening to music....stressed and depressed have not even begin to describe my feelings as of late.
As a children's minsiter at my church, I have struggled so many Sunday's of late trying to get a "message" together for my kids...which I adore. I'm also our Praise team leader and some days it felt like a horrible fight in my mind trying to get songs picked out to lead people into God's presence.
Someone told me shortly after I took after as leader of the Praise team at our church that they could see a different and stronger anointing on me and they were amazed...well apparantly that just sparked another thing for the enemy to attack in my life. I'm sure you have all had those days!! I sat here this morning at work and I was feeling defeated, tried, and just down right overwhelmed, I've been listening to a few new songs but like I said I just couldn't shake the feelings I was dealing with...I'm still fighting those things but I do feel like now I have some ammunition to go in to the fight. One I sat a couple Sunday's ago now and listened to a message by Pastor Melvin and it Stirred my heart (which is ironic for me because my children's minister at church is called STIR) listening to Pastor Melvin talk about the children, gave me a burst of energy and ideas and I felt like I caught a breath.
In the same regard that happened to me this morning with three emails...one from NeNe and two from Karen...they were talking about a new cd that just hit the stores and I'll be honest I downloaded the title track a couple weeks ago but hadn't listened to it all the way through...well today I did....it read my mail...and I hope if you have been struggling at all that it reads your's too. o matter what we are facing in life there is one thing we need to know, we are Overcomer's...why because God says we are, and because as a saying I read yesterday say's "When you are feeling like you are drowning in life's problems just remember that your lifeguard walks on water!!!" Today let's purpose -- I know I am -- that as this Mandisa song I'm linking to you were not going under because we are an Overcomer!!!
Be Blessed!!!

How we used to be or was......
This week we have a special "guest writer" - Enjoy this word!
While in prayer this word came to me.
That; that was "meaning how we used to be or was"
not to determine what is or to be.
Meaning your history no matter how bad or where you came from is not to influence where you are going in your destiny in God.
It is God that calls things that be not as though they were. Remember it was God that called Abram' Abraham' meaning a father of multitude before he had children. God knows endings as well as beginnings.
God is interested in restoration as well as his destiny for our lives fulfilled. He sees what we can be, knowing where we are even now. He sees the potential in us.
If we as a body of Christ are interested in God's heart that's where it is at.
So a warning to the body of Christ; there will be those that will come in with a bad start that we could reject with gossip and with judgmental attitudes and put them down. But God is raising up leaders who are willing to get messy in order to see a fulfilled destiny in there lives.
Remember it is not where you was that will determine your fulfilled purpose in the plan of God.

Nobody Greater....
The past week has been a devastating time in so many people lives because of the Tornado that hit Glade Spring and surrounding areas. The ones that wasn’t hit by the
Tornado has been crying along with those that have suffered loss.
We lost a family member because of the tornado and we have been mourning our loss. There were 5 in the home when the tornado hit. My cousin Barbara was found in the debres of her own home dead. Her son (Dale) was found laying face down and wasn’t able to move, his wife Anna was found out from their home. The two grandkids Cody and LeAnn managed to walk to the subway looking for help. A truck driver seen them and put them up in his truck and tried to keep them warm by wrapping towels around them. He allowed them to use his cell phone to call for help. Dale is still in the hospital
with a broke neck, shoulder and damage to his back. His wife Anna also has a broke neck with cuts and bruises. LeAnn’s arm was broke and had to have surgery on it. Cody escaped with cuts and bruises. Remember them in your prayers.
When tragedy strikes so many times we question “WHY” did this have to happen. Barbara’s sister called her and ask them to come to her house when they were warned
of the tornado. Barbara told her they would just stay where they were and that God would take care of them.
“Why” did this have to happen to her when she was “trusting” God and for others that didn’t even claim to “know” God as their Lord, they survived the storm. We are human and we always have questions to circumstances. In the Bible: Matthew 5:45 (King James Version)……. for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.
God is no respect of person, he loves us all the same, saved or lost. When thinking about what Barbara said right before the storm, “ God will take care of us” and looking at the spiritual side, how much better care than to be in the arms of the Lord.
This world is not our home and we are only passing thru, but sometimes we forget and think we are to be here forever. To be a child of God, going home to Heaven is our goal and we should celebrate when our saved loved ones close their eyes here on earth to open them in heaven. Sure we will miss them, but if we are ready then we will join them one day soon for a grand reunion where we will never have to be separated again.
Every since the tornado has hit, the song “NoBody Greater” has been strong on my heart. The words in the song says:
Nobody can heal... like you canOh most holy one you are the Great I AmAwesome in all your ways and mighty is your handYou are He who carried out redemption's planYou are He who carried out redemption's plan
As bad as the Tornado was… how strong it had to been for it do demolish homes, move big storage trailers from one side of the interstate to the other. Think of how much
Bigger and stronger and Greater God is:
Searched all over... couldn't find nobodyI looked high and low... still couldn't find nobodyNobody greater... nobody greater no... nobody greater than you.
I really believe that something great is going to come out of the situation in Glade Spring, Va. Everyone has been so good to help out and send in food, clothes and money. It seems that all has come together to help those in need. People has come to your door and ask if you need anything. Sunday three different groups came to my mom’s house and gave her a meal. The fire department stopped in front of the house and handed us a case of water and a case of gator aid. Tents are set up all over town giving free food to anyone that needs o/r wants it. Buisness have donated supplies and their time to help clean up.
This is the way it should be all the time, even when it isn’t a disaster. You can see and feel the togetherness in this small hometown. And you can see God’s Love and greatness in the mist of it all. NOBODY GREATHER THEN YOU GOD!

Stronger
WOW what a time this has been over the last several months! Well let's not even say months lets say years, cause when I face reality it's been a rough rough rough time since September of 2009. So many many things have went on in my life since then, I won't even begin to share on here all the things good or bad that have happened. The thing is I was listening to a Mandisa song the other day and it really hit home with me on where I have been for the last 2 years. The song is called Stronger. Here's what has occurred in my mind while even now listening to that song! You always here people say that God will not put more on you that you can bear, well that's not exactly what the scripture says. What the scripture says is this 1 Corinthians 10:13 says in the New Living Translation - - - The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, he will show you a way out so that you can endure. So I have laughed about this scripture when I hear people saying it to me and I think ok God you must trust me an extreme amount to put everything on me that you have and then I realize if He thinks I can handle all this - well then what He is walking me through is really making me Stronger. I sure don't feel like it in days I have been going through but let me say I have to encourage you that even though the trials seem overwhelming to you - know that what you are going through is only making you stronger!

This little light of mine
So welcome to the first blog of 2011. Wow can you believe it only took six days to get a new blog up.
This morning I was listening to a song by Addison Road called this little light of mine. It was such a powerful reminder to me that we need to be a light into this world and let it shine brightly and to not hide it under a bush.
Next week our church is going to be doing a 21 day fast and for most of us it will be the Daniel Fast. This made me think about the children I teach in STIR student ministries at the church and as I began talking with them about the fast they wanted to participate.
So I became really excited to hear their excitement about wanting to do this fast. It wasn't just that though, it was the fact that children are who Jesus taught us we should come to Him as and so it makes me excited to see what is going to happen by their participation in this fast, and also to know their excitement about the new name we gave the children's ministry.
So all the things that you have been facing lately. Just take a second and realize that we need to let our lights shine, and whatever your going through, the light that we are shining is their for you, and Christ can and will take care of everything, and just rely on Him. He is equipping us in this journey and the storms we face today will be fuel to add to our flame as we let our lights shine into the future.
Blessing

Stand Still
The last few weeks of my life have been a little more stressful than normal. Recently my Poppaw was told that they had found some cancer cells in his lymphnodes and so its been a whirlwind of doctor visits for him and uncertainity of having to deal with that awful word called cancer.
This morning as I was sitting talking to my Mommaw the phone rang here at their house and it was one of my aunts. As they were talking Mommaw mentioned a song that she has been standing on lately and the words of that song just begin to resonate in my heart and mind. Its a song that the Isaacs sing and it is so true of where I am living my life right now.
The song says Stand still and let God move, standing still is hard to do, when you feel that you have reached the end He'll make a way for you so stand still and let God move.
I don't know where you are in your life or what you are going through but let me just take the time to encourage you this morning and say no matter what you are going through, just stand still and let God move. You know that He sees the bigger picture and He is really making a way for you. Ephesians 6:13 in the Message Bible says "Be prepared. You're up against far more than you can handle on your own. Take all the help you can get, every weapon God has issued, so that when it's all over but the shoutin you'll be on your feet." That scripture this morning just spoke to me -- can't you just see in your mind God standing in Heaven just feeding you one weapon after another to fight off the attacks of the enemy and the weaker you get the closer he comes and the bigger the weapon He gives you to fight the attack off - then when you have been fighting all of a sudden you feel it and begin to see it -- there's the breakthrough - and as tired and battle weary as you are - you are still standing on your feet -- maybe not in your own power -- maybe God has you propped up in His arms -- but your standing and your safe and you've fought through the battle -- and victory is just in sight!
STAND STILL AND LET GOD MOVE!!!

So it's defintely been a while since I've gotten to sit down and just blog my thought to you. It's not that I have been overly busy but things have just been happening that I will go into details later about. For those who know me know that for the last year I have been unemployed and have not had any luck whatsoever finding a job or even getting an interview for a job. I have cried and been frustrated over this but at the same time I have been in full God trusting mode. I haven't felt worried over not having a job maybe I should be I mean yes I have been frustrated and did a lot of crying about it but I've not been worried because I know that God is taking care of me and I fully and completely trust Him. I have always known and find that when I'm feeling down about not having a job that usually God places someone in my life to say an encouraging word, or a hear a song, or I read a scripture in the Bible and I know that it's God's way of continuing to show me that He cares.
God is always showing how He cares for me and for that I am so grateful because with the being down about being unemployed it restores my faith in myself which I don't have a lot of.
No matter what you are going through or facing all we need to do is put our trust and our faith in Jesus Christ. I know that because I have a relationship with Him and I live for Him that He is taking care of me and He will defintely do the same for you if you just allow Him to.

Cry out to Jesus
"And to all of the people with burdens and pains. Keeping you back from your life. You believe that there's nothing and there is no one, Who can make it right. There is hope for the helpless, Rest for the weary, Love for the broken heart, There is grace and forgiveness, Mercy and healing, He'll meet you wherever you areCry out to Jesus, Cry out to Jesus"
As I sit and read these words its only a portion of the lyrics to this song. Somehow today it's where I'm at. I'm (like everyone else at some point) one with burdens and pains. Burden of being jobless and while I'm working a temporary job feeling that it will soon end and I will once again have to rely on unemployment. Burdens because issues arising with your health can't be resolved because of no money coming in because of unemployment. Pain that isn't just physical aches and pains which I have thanks to being fat (trust me I've been trying to do something about that) and pains from my feet from old basketball injuries and just being clumsy. It's dealing with pain that is much farther into my personal life than I want to dive right now but maybe one day!
So I sit and today in particular two things happened with two different people and while I'm happy for them at the same time I think when's it gonna be my turn. I know ya'll aren't human you don't ever think those thoughts, do you?
So told when I'm feeling hopeless and helpless and weary and broken hearted. I'm just looking up and crying out to Jesus. While others seem to have it together I'll just be honest and say without God I don't have anything and so I sit here and yes internally but also physically and to the outside I sit and I CRY OUT TO JESUS!

Soothing the soul....
WOW! It's so true the saying I've heard for years that music soothes the savage beast! It amazes me how God works through music, things I always find soothing to the soul. Yesterday at church I was privy to be able to sing on the praise team, which is something I haven't done since changing churches, which was totally a thing not by choice, but something maybe I'll be able to talk about later. In any case, the praise team song last night was "I exalt thee", the words are so simple and they roll off the tounge so smooth, "I exalt thee, I exalt thee, I exalt thee, oh Lord!" the songs that had been sang prior to the praise team coming to sing had all been about having a thankful heart, and how heaven is so close, and as we began to sing I exalt thee, the first part of the verse says for thou oh Lord art high above the earth, I began to think about this and a beautiful time of worship which was already going on in our service seemed to become charged even more with just simple words, exaltation to the Lord, our Reedemer. A song that in these days when so many have a "troubled soul" it becomes like a soothing ointment on a wound, when physically you can't see the pain that a person is in - the words to a song or the words of a friend can be so soothing and do more healing in a moment than one will ever know. I exalt thee oh Lord - your high above the Heavens, you are our Reedemer, you rule and you reign, and though our trials may be great here on this earth, they are nothing compared to what you endured on the cross to take away our sins! So simply today, I hope you will join me, and just Exalt Him! He is worthy of all exaltation!

Special Guest Post --- Fire of God
We often hear today a phrase in church, it goes like this: we are praying for the fire of God or we want the fire of God in our churches.
When a fire starts it burns all that can be burnt unless put out, as we look what happens when a fire occurs change happens. It takes what was and reduces it down and even changes the appearance of it. Fire is also used for cleansing out or cleaning for new growth.
So there is this word that is within me, that goes as follows. When we are on fire from God we will be reduced down from out own will to his. There will be a cleansing that may hurt our flesh for awhile but it will be for new growth. New growth is what we want in our individual lives to bring glory and honor to God. So let the fire of God burn.

Somebody Like Me....
In this crazy, mixed up world that I live in, I can't help but wonder sometimes when the drama will end. I know that God has everything in complete control and I trust Him beyond measure! With that being said I was sitting at a family members house this week and thinking about all the things that I have been going through lately and decided - pitty party - table for me - I was feeling really sorry for numero uno!! Is it not amazing how we as human beings think that the world strickly revolves around us and that even though we care about others - our problems just seem way more than theirs. Ever had one of those times? Who hasn't right?
Well in my pitty party moment at the family members house, I started to look around me and I saw somethings that touched my heart! I saw a couple family members who stepped up and took care of things - just to help the other one out -- I mean that's what families do -- well at least my family, but it was in this and then coming to another family members house and hearing a song that somethings just clicked in this hard headed round thing attached to my shoulders!
I was listening to the song by Jason Crabb called "Somebody Like Me" and the words seemed to just jump out at me that day. It made me sit and think, when are we as Christians going to quit with the pitty parties and the looking out for numero uno and when are we going to become the Church that Christ taught us in His word to be. The song paints a picture for me - a ole drunk comes to church - fully knowing that's where he needs to be - but the self righteousness of the congregation gets in the way and he realizes they don't want him there so he gets up and leaves and no one stops him. Can you imagine what might have happened at that church - if somebody would have gotten up and came and sat down beside that man and welcomed him to that church or when he felt uncomfortable would have met him at the door and asked him not to leave and sat back down with him. I pray God give us the boldness to be a somebody who will take a stand - to go against the grain - be a difference maker -- I think I'm going to have to use this song as my new daily thought -- somebody like me -- Lord let this somebody like me - reflect you - let this somebody like me do your will -- not mine -- take the me out and let this somebody be your reflection and your hands extended. True to the words of that song if we would be the somebody like me - that ole drunk would have probably stayed in that service and became a beautiful new creature - just an ole sinner saved by grace!
Let's be that "somebody like me" be the somebody who reflects Christ in everything that we do!

Going to be a brighter day....
I'm sure it's safe to say that everyone of us at some point in our life have struggled with feelings of insecurities and other horrible thoughts, if you haven't WOW can you tell how you've done that. I have struggled for years with my weight and with just feeling like I'm not worth alot. So recently I have had several things knock me to the ground with my feelings and I have been fighting and praying my way out of that area.
I know that as a child of God I completely trust and rely on my Savior Jesus Christ. So when feelings of insecurity come how do we handle it. For me I turn on the radio or my mp3 player and look for a song to lift my spirits. So recently when I was having a moment this song begin to play, it ministered to me so much. I am so thankful that no matter what we go through and no matter what we face in life there is going to be a brighter day.
Through Christ we can always have a brighter day. I realize that life is not always going to be roses, but I do know that as it says in Philippians 4:19 I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. I also love what it says in Luke 18:27 - I learned this when I was in Honduras so I learned it first in Spanish which says "Lo que es imposible para los hombres es posible para Dios" which translated says "What it impossible for man is possible for God!"
So through Christ we can have brighter days!

Miracle Needed
Today there are so many things going on in this crazy world. Have you ever just stopped to think it’s to much to handle? I know over the last few months I have been feeling that way. I kept thinking Lord enough is enough but every time I think that I hear a song or a word is spoken to me from a friend or family member or into my Spirit from the Lord Himself.
Of course today would not be different. I sat this evening listening to the song “Miracle” by Aaron and Amanda Crabb. I listened to the words and thought to myself, Lord that’s me I need this miracle! It seems like mentally and emotionally it has been one thing after another for me this year so today in desperation I began to cry out for a miracle to happen.
I was talking to my cousin Jennifer at Bible Study tonight and she was telling me how she knew God had something good in store for my life, and as those words came out of her mouth they hit me like a ton of bricks; and on Sunday in church God spoke to my Dad about how He framed the worlds into existence and the miracle of providing me a job was just a small thing for Him to accomplish because He’s God!
To that I say Lord you know my heart, you understand my thoughts and you know there is a definite miracle needed in my life but today more than ever I trust you and know that the miracle will come and these never ending trials will pass.
So if you feel as if you life is falling apart and you can’t make it trust in the one who created the world. Trust in Jesus Christ and that miracle needed will happen!!

Lesson Learned
Charles and I had an eye opening experience this weekend.
I would like to share it with you and I hope that it will be a blessing and help to you.
IT KEPT COMING TO ME FOR WKS TO GET CHARLES BIRTH CERTIFICATE AND I KEPT IGNORING THE THOUGHT. IT WOULD COME TO ME AGAIN AND I WOULD PASS IT OFF TO TAKE CARE OF IT LATER.
CHARLES WENT TO GET HIS LICENSE RENEWED ON AUGUST 28 AT THE DMV. WE THOUGHT HE HAD THE MONTH OF AUGUST TO HAVE IT DONE. COME FIND OUT IT EXPIRED ON HIS BIRTHDAY AUGUST 1. HE WAS TOLD BY DMV THAT HE HAD TO SHOW HIS BIRTH CERTIFICATE BEFORE THEY COULD RENEW THE LICENSE.
WE SEARCHED THE HOUSE OVER. CLEANED OUT CLOSETS, CABINETS AND DRAWERS. WE LOOKED THE HOUSE OVER FOR 2 DAYS AND COULD NOT FIND THE BIRTH CERTIFICATE. I PRAYED AND CRIED OUT TO GOD TO PLEASE SHOW AND DIRECT US TO WHERE IT IS, CHARLES JOB DEPENDS ON THIS. WE WENT OVER THE HOUSE WITH A FINE TOOTH COMB.
IF YOU WOULD HAVE CAME IN OUR HOUSE YOU WOULD HAVE THOUGHT A TORNADO HAD HIT. WE PULLED EVERYTHING IN THE CLOSETS OUT AND JUST THROWED THEM IN THE FLOOR. WE LOOKED IN EVERY PHOTO ALBUM; YOU NAME IT WE LOOKED IN IT. WE FOUND THINGS WE HAD FORGET ABOUT SINCE WE MOVED IN THE HOUSE 30 YEARS AGO.
WE BAGGED UP EVERYTHING THAT WE HADN’T USED IN YEARS AND EITHER TRASHED IT OR PUT IT ASIDE FOR YARD SALE. CHARLES BURNED OLD PAPERWORK AND DOCUMENTS FROM YEARS PAST ALL DAY SATURDAY.
ALL THE TIME I KEPT PRAYING “PLEASE GOD” IT CAME TO A POINT THAT I WENT OUT ON THE PORCH AT MIDNIGHT, EXHAUSTED AND FRUSTRATED BECAUSE WE COULDN’T FIND IT. I SIT AND CRIED AND WAS REALLY ANGRY AT GOD BECAUSE I DIDN’T THINK THAT HE LISTENING TO MY PRAYER OR EVEN WANTED TO HELP US.
TO BE HONEST I GOT MAD AT GOD. I WENT INSIDE AND TOLD CHARLES THAT I WAS REALLY DISAPPOINTED AT GOD. IF HE COULDN’T HELP US / OR WANT TO HELP US FIND SOMETHING AS SIMPLE AS A BIRTH CERTIFICATE, THEN HOW COULD WE TRUST THAT HE WILL HELP US WITH THE BIG THINGS IN LIFE.
I GOT UP THE NEXT MORNING STILL HURT AND LET DOWN BY GOD. I WENT INTO WORK IN A REALLY BAD MOOD AND JUST FRUSTED WITH EVERYTHING. I FELT I WAS WEIGHED DOWN WITH A HEAVY LOAD AND JUST WANTED TO GIVE UP.
ABOUT 9:00 GOD SPOKE TO ME. THIS IS WHAT HE TOLD ME:
“DON’T BLAME ME” I HAVE GIVEN YOU WARNING AFTER WARNING FOR YOU TO LOOK FOR THE BIRTH CERTIFICATE AND YOU KEPT PUTTING IT OFF AND IGNORING THE WARNING. SO IT IS NOT MY FAULT YOU
DIDN’T LISTEN. I TRIED TO TAKE CARE OF YOU. I TRIED TO PREPARE YOU FOR THIS MOMENT.
YOU NEED TO GET YOUR PHYSICAL HOUSE (LIFE) CLEANED OUT AND IN ORDER. GET RID OF THE THINGS
THAT IS NOT NECESSARY. THROW AWAY ANTHING THAT IS NOT OF USE OR BENEFIT TO YOU. CLUTTER
AND TRASH IN UNFRUITFUL. GET ORGANIZED.
JUST AS YOUR SPIRTUAL LIFE, YOU NEED TO GET ANYTHING OUT THAT IS NOT NECESSARY AND NOT FRUITFUL AND I WILL POUR MY BLESSING OUT ON YOU EVEN MORE BUT I CAN’T WORK IN A HOUSE THAT IS CLUTTERED WITH JUNK AND UNNECESSARY ITEMS.
IF THESE THINGS ARE THERE, THERE IS NO ROOM FOR ME.
CLEAN OUT / GET THINGS IN ORDER AND WATCH WHAT I WILL COME IN AND DO”
THIS SITUATION HAS BEEN A REAL EYE OPENER FOR BOTH CHARLES AND I.
BECAUSE OF MY PUTTING OFF SOMETHING THAT THE LORD KEPT DEALING WITH ME TO DO, I NOT ONLY SUFFERED FROM IT BUT CHARLES SUFFERED AND ALSO THE COMPANY CHARLES WORKS FOR WILL SUFFER.
BECAUSE CHARLES LICENSE HAS EXPIRED HE CAN’T WORK AND THAT MEANS NO WAGES FOR SEVERAL DAYS.
I HAD TO CALL RICHMOND TO GET A COPY OF HIS BIRTH CERTIFICATE AND PAID EXTRA MONEY TO HAVE SHIPPED FASTER, BUT STILL IT CAN TAKE 3-5 BUSINESS DAYS.
WHEN GOD DEALS WITH OUR HEART WE DON’T NEED TO PUT IT OFF. WE NEED TO DO IT RIGHT NOW. BECAUSE PUTTING OFF WILL CAUSE HEARTACHE TO YOU AND THOSE AROUND YOU.
WE HAVE LEARNED THRU THIS, TO BE SENSITIVE TO WHAT GOD IS TRYING TO TELL US. HE LOVES US AND GIVES US CHANCES TO GET THINGS RIGHT AND IN ORDER. HE PREPARES US FOR THE FUTURE, BUT DON’T BE LIKE ME AND IGNORE HIS VOICE AND THEN HAVE TO SUFFER BECAUSE SOMETHING HE WANTED TO HELP ME WITH.
SO ONCE AGAIN, IT WAS NOT GOD’S FAULT. IT WAS MY FAULT AND THE ENTIRE SITUATION COULD HAVE BEEN PREVENTED IF I HAD ONLY LISTED TO HIS WARNING.
THE GOOD SIDE OF THIS SITUATION IS…WE HAVE A CLEANED OUT OUR HOUSE. NO MORE JUNK OR CLUTTER
ANYMORE IN THE DeBORD HOUSE. THIS APPLIES TO PHYSICAL AND SPIRTUAL.
GOD BLESS YOU

Giants.....they fall
So through all the battles that I feel like I have been going through lately I have came across a song that has really ministered to me. It is one of my uncles Charles favorite songs it’s called “Giants” and I love listening to that song because it lets me know that even though I am going through these trials those “Giants” the bigger they are the harder they are going to fall under the power of God.
I know that in life it may seem so easy to just feel like when things come our way that we can’t handle to just give up and run away. That’s where I have to come to realize lately that I don’t need to run away. I need to just cast my burdens at the feet of Jesus. I need to hide myself in the cross. I need to open my eyes and realize that the “giants” that are in front of me are nothing compared to the Christ I serve who is protecting me!
I love the scripture in Romans that says, What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us who can be against us? It is true with God being for us we have no one that can be against us. No “giant” is big enough to defeat our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. No “giant” is a “giant” at all with God on our side.
I think about David versus Goliath – Goliath yes he was gigantic but David had the Lord on his side so one tiny smooth stone in his hands was far greater than any weapon that Goliath could have potentially had. That’s why I think of it this way – no matter what trial or test I go through I know that if I stand on God’s Holy Word and if I maintain an open line of communication through prayer and reading God’s Word, that no weapon formed against me is going to prosper and I AM more than a conqueror. (Can I get a witness!)
So I must say if you are going through a battle, struggling through a trial, rest in knowing that no weapon formed against you shall prosper and soon those Giants are going to come down and remember that the bigger they are the harder they will fall.
Be Blessed

Jesus My Best Friend
This week has been a very busy week for me at church. It has been our Vacation Bible School. As part of what I do for Bible School is the praise and worship each night along with my dad, my nephew and one of our young ladies in our church. One of the songs that we sang each night was the coolest praise and worship song….I may have to send it out next week as the weekly update.
The song was called Jesus My Best Friend. I love the chorus so simple but what we should all strive for…the chorus said, “Jesus you are my best friend, you will always be, nothing will ever change that, Jesus you are my best friend, you will always be, nothing will ever change that.”
I wish you could have all been there to see the children’s face as they sang that song and has they did the simple motions to the chorus. One girl, she’s in my Sunday school class, I wish I could have captured her face on camera, and I hope someone did. She was singing her heart out on that song and worshipping God, and you knew by the look on her face that she meant the words to that song.
It made me realize more and more this week that no matter the storms no matter the trials that we are going through, we absolutely must put our faith and our trust in our best friend, Jesus!
Blessings!

The Best is Yet to Come
I was sitting here thinking about so many things that have been happening in my life here of late, all the hardships I’ve seen people go through, all the struggles that family and friends have had to endure, when a old song began to play in my mind. I remember as a child hearing my parents and some of my uncles and aunts sing this song together and it’s meaning means so much to me even more than I think I ever realized it would.
The song goes like this “Oh the best is yet to come when I walk through Heaven’s gates, oh the 1st time I see Jesus oh I can hardly wait, He’ll show me to my mansion and say this is your home, I have a feeling in my heart the best is yet to come.”
Even now thinking about those words, I can imagine my great grandpa Blevins and my great grandma Blevins, my great uncles David and Yokeley, my Mommaw DeBord, my great aunt Ellen all walking through Heaven talking to each other and worshipping at the feet of Jesus.
Maybe it’s because July 24 is a special day to me since it’s my birthday, but I can’t help but feel a little nostalgic and think about my family who paved the way before me, I can’t help but think, wouldn’t it be something just to get a little glimpse of what “the best to come” looked like. I don’t think our human minds could comprehend it all, and that’s ok, because I don’t know about you but when it comes right down to it, I love surprises, so when it’s my turn to get to see “the best that is still yet to come” I want to walk through those pearly gates of Heaven with my eyes wide and my mouth dropped open in awe of the splendor and glory of our home in Glory!
Even thinking of that song just gives me a reminder that for today and everyday – the best is yet to come, God’s got something great inside of each one of us, something He wants us to do before He calls us home to be with Him. I want to challenge you today to know that The Best Is Yet To Come and you may not know what it is yet, but keep seeking God – He will open your heart and reveal to you everything, in His time!

I was reading my devotion here at work and the Scripture I read meant a lot to me this morning, so I am passing it on to you.
I know myself I get mis-understood as in verse 5 and people will twist your words. Satan will use that against you to
Bring you down. In this evil times we are now everyone is out for themselves, and anyway they can bring you down they
Will to make themselves look good. They are eager to see you do one thing wrong, and from there they "lurk" you try
To destroy your name and your walk with God. But keep trusting God and he will take care of you. God knows the
Intent of your heart and he is all that matters. So do the best you can, and the others will be taken care of that tries
To come against your for no reason.
HAVE A GREAT DAY !
Psalm 56 (New International Version)
Psalm 56
1 Be merciful to me, O God, for men hotly pursue me; all day long they press their attack.
2 My slanderers pursue me all day long; many are attacking me in their pride.
3 When I am afraid, I will trust in you.
4 In God, whose word I praise, in God I trust; I will not be afraid. What can mortal man do to me?
5 All day long they twist my words; they are always plotting to harm me.
6 They conspire, they lurk, they watch my steps, eager to take my life.
7 On no account let them escape; in your anger, O God, bring down the nations.
8 Record my lament; list my tears on your scroll are they not in your record?
9 Then my enemies will turn back when I call for help. By this I will know that God is for me.
10 In God, whose word I praise, in the LORD, whose word I praise-
11 in God I trust; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?
12 I am under vows to you, O God; I will present my thank offerings to you.
13 For you have delivered me from death and my feet from stumbling, that I may walk before God in the light of life.
Be Blessed

Music of My Heart....
There is a beautiful song by Nicole C Mullen that is called the Music of my Heart…it is a very powerful anthem to our Lord and Savior. She sings it so beautifully to the Lord, you’re the music of my heart, the melody within my soul. I think about that song today, because within the struggles and trials that I have been walking through these past few weeks and even months, that song rings true in my heart today, Lord you are the music of my heart, you are the melody within my soul, you’re the one who keeps me and sustains me, and when I don’t feel like I can take another step, I’m reminded usually through another of Nicole C Mullen’s songs and also sang by the Crabb Family that in this trial I can look and I can see that My Reedemer Lives. I know that even though I have been walking through a very hard time that I can stand upon the Rock of MY salvation and HE is there – He is the constant that keeps the music in my heart – just like last night at church – my heart so heavy and burdened I was to lead praise and worship, and as I stepped to the microphone and began to sing Amazing Grace how sweet the sound that saved a wretch like me I once was lost but now I’m found was blind but now I see – My chains are gone I’ve been set free MY God MY Savior has ransomed me and like a flood His mercy reigns unending love Amazing Grace!
The music of my heart this morning even though it is the dreaded Monday of the work week – My Chains are Gone – those chains of sin that I’ve been set free from – and when I walk through the trials and test of my salvation – I know that I can make it because my Redeemer lives and He’s gonna take me through this fire again! This to shall pass and the victories are ahead!
Is there something that maybe you’ve been struggling with – a trial or a test you’ve been going through – and maybe you’ve been thinking here lately about quitting or giving in – or maybe you just feel down right defeated – let me encourage you today – go to your source – run to Him – He will see you through – and if you need prayer by all means were here to pray with you!
Would love to hear from you drop us a comment or even a prayer request!
Be Blessed

Feed the soul....
WOW, it's been way to long since the last post!
I was thinking about some of my favorites songs today - turning on the mp3 player and letting ring out the speakers - and I got to thinking about it. No matter the mood or issue or day I'm having it seems that God always comes through at the right moment with a song that "feeds my soul!".
Yesterday I was sitting at work covered up in what seems to be an endless pile of paperwork and I started thinking about how huge everything seemed and I didn't know how I was going to get it all done, it's then that the Mandisa song came on God Speaking, and then a few minutes later the Crabb Family song Can't Nobody Do Me Like Jesus came on.
So I got to thinking about this, my work load seemed like so much more than I could bear and it was almost as if God began to remind me that in those times I need to slow down and look around for the voice of the Savior - because God can speak to us in anyway that He chooses. Of course this definitly made me think -- no matter what the situation - no matter what the trial or task -- Can't Nobody take care of me like my Jesus -- because He is after all my best friend - I mean He created the universe - Saved MY soul! An awesome God is He!
So as you go about your day today and in the upcoming week -- let's find a song or listen for a word from the Lord to "feed our soul!"
Be Blessed!
