Somebody Like Me....

In this crazy, mixed up world that I live in, I can't help but wonder sometimes when the drama will end. I know that God has everything in complete control and I trust Him beyond measure! With that being said I was sitting at a family members house this week and thinking about all the things that I have been going through lately and decided - pitty party - table for me - I was feeling really sorry for numero uno!! Is it not amazing how we as human beings think that the world strickly revolves around us and that even though we care about others - our problems just seem way more than theirs. Ever had one of those times? Who hasn't right?

Well in my pitty party moment at the family members house, I started to look around me and I saw somethings that touched my heart! I saw a couple family members who stepped up and took care of things - just to help the other one out -- I mean that's what families do -- well at least my family, but it was in this and then coming to another family members house and hearing a song that somethings just clicked in this hard headed round thing attached to my shoulders!

I was listening to the song by Jason Crabb called "Somebody Like Me" and the words seemed to just jump out at me that day. It made me sit and think, when are we as Christians going to quit with the pitty parties and the looking out for numero uno and when are we going to become the Church that Christ taught us in His word to be. The song paints a picture for me - a ole drunk comes to church - fully knowing that's where he needs to be - but the self righteousness of the congregation gets in the way and he realizes they don't want him there so he gets up and leaves and no one stops him. Can you imagine what might have happened at that church - if somebody would have gotten up and came and sat down beside that man and welcomed him to that church or when he felt uncomfortable would have met him at the door and asked him not to leave and sat back down with him. I pray God give us the boldness to be a somebody who will take a stand - to go against the grain - be a difference maker -- I think I'm going to have to use this song as my new daily thought -- somebody like me -- Lord let this somebody like me - reflect you - let this somebody like me do your will -- not mine -- take the me out and let this somebody be your reflection and your hands extended. True to the words of that song if we would be the somebody like me - that ole drunk would have probably stayed in that service and became a beautiful new creature - just an ole sinner saved by grace!

Let's be that "somebody like me" be the somebody who reflects Christ in everything that we do!

Music of My Heart....

There is a beautiful song by Nicole C Mullen that is called the Music of my Heart…it is a very powerful anthem to our Lord and Savior. She sings it so beautifully to the Lord, you’re the music of my heart, the melody within my soul. I think about that song today, because within the struggles and trials that I have been walking through these past few weeks and even months, that song rings true in my heart today, Lord you are the music of my heart, you are the melody within my soul, you’re the one who keeps me and sustains me, and when I don’t feel like I can take another step, I’m reminded usually through another of Nicole C Mullen’s songs and also sang by the Crabb Family that in this trial I can look and I can see that My Reedemer Lives. I know that even though I have been walking through a very hard time that I can stand upon the Rock of MY salvation and HE is there – He is the constant that keeps the music in my heart – just like last night at church – my heart so heavy and burdened I was to lead praise and worship, and as I stepped to the microphone and began to sing Amazing Grace how sweet the sound that saved a wretch like me I once was lost but now I’m found was blind but now I see – My chains are gone I’ve been set free MY God MY Savior has ransomed me and like a flood His mercy reigns unending love Amazing Grace!

The music of my heart this morning even though it is the dreaded Monday of the work week – My Chains are Gone – those chains of sin that I’ve been set free from – and when I walk through the trials and test of my salvation – I know that I can make it because my Redeemer lives and He’s gonna take me through this fire again! This to shall pass and the victories are ahead!

Is there something that maybe you’ve been struggling with – a trial or a test you’ve been going through – and maybe you’ve been thinking here lately about quitting or giving in – or maybe you just feel down right defeated – let me encourage you today – go to your source – run to Him – He will see you through – and if you need prayer by all means were here to pray with you!

Would love to hear from you drop us a comment or even a prayer request!

Be Blessed

Call on Jesus

It seems here lately in my life, that the spiritual attacks on my soul have come more often. Sometimes I feel like I can't even catch my breath because I'm getting hit with one thing after another. It's in these times in my life that I know the one thing I need to do is run to my source.

Who is my source you might ask? Well I'll tell you who my source is. He is the Creator of the universe, He knew me before I even was born, He took me out of the dirt and pit I was in called sin and set my feet upon the solid rock. My source is not in man, my source is in God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Ghost.

One of my favorite songs says it perfectly to me, it's by Nicole C Mullen, the chorus starts by saying "When I call on Jesus, all things are possible!" It's absolute truth -- when I call on Jesus - those spiritual attacks that leave me breathless - they may knock me back -- they may cause me to have battle scars -- but what they can't do is knock me down -- I say that because One day there was a man named Jesus who carried His cross to Calvary -- and He hung between Heaven and earth and He was nailed to a cross, beaten and bruised, For me and FOR YOU! He died so that I can live and when I call on His name -- He can take away the pain - when I call on His name -- He takes care of the situation. My cross is not so heavy when the Lord is carrying it with me!

No matter what you are going through in your life - the simple answer that so many over look is -- the one who can take care of the problem is just waiting on you to call on Him -- so "Call on Jesus!"

Be blessed
