Giants.....they fall

So through all the battles that I feel like I have been going through lately I have came across a song that has really ministered to me. It is one of my uncles Charles favorite songs it’s called “Giants” and I love listening to that song because it lets me know that even though I am going through these trials those “Giants” the bigger they are the harder they are going to fall under the power of God.

I know that in life it may seem so easy to just feel like when things come our way that we can’t handle to just give up and run away. That’s where I have to come to realize lately that I don’t need to run away. I need to just cast my burdens at the feet of Jesus. I need to hide myself in the cross. I need to open my eyes and realize that the “giants” that are in front of me are nothing compared to the Christ I serve who is protecting me!

I love the scripture in Romans that says, What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us who can be against us? It is true with God being for us we have no one that can be against us. No “giant” is big enough to defeat our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. No “giant” is a “giant” at all with God on our side.

I think about David versus Goliath – Goliath yes he was gigantic but David had the Lord on his side so one tiny smooth stone in his hands was far greater than any weapon that Goliath could have potentially had. That’s why I think of it this way – no matter what trial or test I go through I know that if I stand on God’s Holy Word and if I maintain an open line of communication through prayer and reading God’s Word, that no weapon formed against me is going to prosper and I AM more than a conqueror. (Can I get a witness!)

So I must say if you are going through a battle, struggling through a trial, rest in knowing that no weapon formed against you shall prosper and soon those Giants are going to come down and remember that the bigger they are the harder they will fall.

Jesus My Best Friend

This week has been a very busy week for me at church. It has been our Vacation Bible School. As part of what I do for Bible School is the praise and worship each night along with my dad, my nephew and one of our young ladies in our church. One of the songs that we sang each night was the coolest praise and worship song….I may have to send it out next week as the weekly update.

The song was called Jesus My Best Friend. I love the chorus so simple but what we should all strive for…the chorus said, “Jesus you are my best friend, you will always be, nothing will ever change that, Jesus you are my best friend, you will always be, nothing will ever change that.”

I wish you could have all been there to see the children’s face as they sang that song and has they did the simple motions to the chorus. One girl, she’s in my Sunday school class, I wish I could have captured her face on camera, and I hope someone did. She was singing her heart out on that song and worshipping God, and you knew by the look on her face that she meant the words to that song.

It made me realize more and more this week that no matter the storms no matter the trials that we are going through, we absolutely must put our faith and our trust in our best friend, Jesus!

Blessings!

The Best is Yet to Come

I was sitting here thinking about so many things that have been happening in my life here of late, all the hardships I’ve seen people go through, all the struggles that family and friends have had to endure, when a old song began to play in my mind. I remember as a child hearing my parents and some of my uncles and aunts sing this song together and it’s meaning means so much to me even more than I think I ever realized it would.
The song goes like this “Oh the best is yet to come when I walk through Heaven’s gates, oh the 1st time I see Jesus oh I can hardly wait, He’ll show me to my mansion and say this is your home, I have a feeling in my heart the best is yet to come.”
Even now thinking about those words, I can imagine my great grandpa Blevins and my great grandma Blevins, my great uncles David and Yokeley, my Mommaw DeBord, my great aunt Ellen all walking through Heaven talking to each other and worshipping at the feet of Jesus.
Maybe it’s because July 24 is a special day to me since it’s my birthday, but I can’t help but feel a little nostalgic and think about my family who paved the way before me, I can’t help but think, wouldn’t it be something just to get a little glimpse of what “the best to come” looked like. I don’t think our human minds could comprehend it all, and that’s ok, because I don’t know about you but when it comes right down to it, I love surprises, so when it’s my turn to get to see “the best that is still yet to come” I want to walk through those pearly gates of Heaven with my eyes wide and my mouth dropped open in awe of the splendor and glory of our home in Glory!
Even thinking of that song just gives me a reminder that for today and everyday – the best is yet to come, God’s got something great inside of each one of us, something He wants us to do before He calls us home to be with Him. I want to challenge you today to know that The Best Is Yet To Come and you may not know what it is yet, but keep seeking God – He will open your heart and reveal to you everything, in His time!

I was reading my devotion here at work and the Scripture I read meant a lot to me this morning, so I am passing it on to you.
I know myself I get mis-understood as in verse 5 and people will twist your words. Satan will use that against you to
Bring you down. In this evil times we are now everyone is out for themselves, and anyway they can bring you down they
Will to make themselves look good. They are eager to see you do one thing wrong, and from there they "lurk" you try
To destroy your name and your walk with God. But keep trusting God and he will take care of you. God knows the
Intent of your heart and he is all that matters. So do the best you can, and the others will be taken care of that tries
To come against your for no reason.
HAVE A GREAT DAY !

Psalm 56 (New International Version)
Psalm 56
1 Be merciful to me, O God, for men hotly pursue me; all day long they press their attack.
2 My slanderers pursue me all day long; many are attacking me in their pride.
3 When I am afraid, I will trust in you.
4 In God, whose word I praise, in God I trust; I will not be afraid. What can mortal man do to me?
5 All day long they twist my words; they are always plotting to harm me.
6 They conspire, they lurk, they watch my steps, eager to take my life.
7 On no account let them escape; in your anger, O God, bring down the nations.
8 Record my lament; list my tears on your scroll are they not in your record?
9 Then my enemies will turn back when I call for help. By this I will know that God is for me.
10 In God, whose word I praise, in the LORD, whose word I praise-
11 in God I trust; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?
12 I am under vows to you, O God; I will present my thank offerings to you.
13 For you have delivered me from death and my feet from stumbling, that I may walk before God in the light of life.

Be Blessed

Music of My Heart....

There is a beautiful song by Nicole C Mullen that is called the Music of my Heart…it is a very powerful anthem to our Lord and Savior. She sings it so beautifully to the Lord, you’re the music of my heart, the melody within my soul. I think about that song today, because within the struggles and trials that I have been walking through these past few weeks and even months, that song rings true in my heart today, Lord you are the music of my heart, you are the melody within my soul, you’re the one who keeps me and sustains me, and when I don’t feel like I can take another step, I’m reminded usually through another of Nicole C Mullen’s songs and also sang by the Crabb Family that in this trial I can look and I can see that My Reedemer Lives. I know that even though I have been walking through a very hard time that I can stand upon the Rock of MY salvation and HE is there – He is the constant that keeps the music in my heart – just like last night at church – my heart so heavy and burdened I was to lead praise and worship, and as I stepped to the microphone and began to sing Amazing Grace how sweet the sound that saved a wretch like me I once was lost but now I’m found was blind but now I see – My chains are gone I’ve been set free MY God MY Savior has ransomed me and like a flood His mercy reigns unending love Amazing Grace!

The music of my heart this morning even though it is the dreaded Monday of the work week – My Chains are Gone – those chains of sin that I’ve been set free from – and when I walk through the trials and test of my salvation – I know that I can make it because my Redeemer lives and He’s gonna take me through this fire again! This to shall pass and the victories are ahead!

Is there something that maybe you’ve been struggling with – a trial or a test you’ve been going through – and maybe you’ve been thinking here lately about quitting or giving in – or maybe you just feel down right defeated – let me encourage you today – go to your source – run to Him – He will see you through – and if you need prayer by all means were here to pray with you!

Would love to hear from you drop us a comment or even a prayer request!

Be Blessed

Feed the soul....

WOW, it's been way to long since the last post!
I was thinking about some of my favorites songs today - turning on the mp3 player and letting ring out the speakers - and I got to thinking about it. No matter the mood or issue or day I'm having it seems that God always comes through at the right moment with a song that "feeds my soul!".
Yesterday I was sitting at work covered up in what seems to be an endless pile of paperwork and I started thinking about how huge everything seemed and I didn't know how I was going to get it all done, it's then that the Mandisa song came on God Speaking, and then a few minutes later the Crabb Family song Can't Nobody Do Me Like Jesus came on.
So I got to thinking about this, my work load seemed like so much more than I could bear and it was almost as if God began to remind me that in those times I need to slow down and look around for the voice of the Savior - because God can speak to us in anyway that He chooses. Of course this definitly made me think -- no matter what the situation - no matter what the trial or task -- Can't Nobody take care of me like my Jesus -- because He is after all my best friend - I mean He created the universe - Saved MY soul! An awesome God is He!
So as you go about your day today and in the upcoming week -- let's find a song or listen for a word from the Lord to "feed our soul!"

Be Blessed!

Let's Get Ready To Rumble!

Here we are were at it again! The start to another work week! IT's Monday! I can just imagine the famed announcer from the wrestling and boxing circuit with "the voice" coming up to the microphone and say "Ladies and Gentleman, boys and girls, Welcome to the Main Event, in the blue corner weighing it at (wouldn't you like to know) is Trish and in red corner weighing in at (more than we can handle) Monday Morning!" I can imagine myself walking up to the ring - taping gloves and going back to my corner only to here that famed announcer with the words "Let's Get Ready to Rumble!"

That’s exactly how I felt that my morning was going this morning – my family is on vacation and I couldn’t take off work because it’s the end of the school year and I have so much paperwork to do – so I walked in almost feeling defeated but then I was reminded of a few things! What are they you might ask – 1. That after the service we had yesterday when God plainly spoke to me and told me to quit walking around defeated and feeling so much self worthlessness – that I was His child and He made me special – and I didn’t need to walk around defeated! 2 – Through a text message this morning I was able to start this work morning off with a laugh. I had to thank my cuz for sending it to me accidentally – it was great – brought about a whole new perspective to my day.

So just as I have the mental picture of the announcer saying “let’s get ready to rumble!” – well that’s the attitude I’m going to have today – go ahead Monday “bring it on” I have a fight still in me because as the scripture declares “Greater is HE that is in me than he that is in this world!” It’s like the Kirk Franklin song “Stomp” – No weapon formed against me shall prosper I’m more than a conqueror – Stomp! Stomp what – stomp the enemy down – stomp this Monday down – the battle it’s not yours it’s the Lords!

So Ladies and Gentleman – Christians of All Ages – This Monday is full of Victory – and it’s time that we say to the enemy – I am not cast down I am not destroyed – “Let’s Get READY TO RUMBLE!!!”

Blessings!
